"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." 2 Corinthians 5:17
With Spring just around the corner, it’s time to get the Spring cleaning done. Like our houses, where we reside, our bodies are the temples where the Holy Spirit resides, (1 Corinthians 6:19). As we clean or houses, let’s clean our bodies, the temples of the Holy Ghost, at the same time.
We, first, need to assess what needs to be cleaned and what needs to be discarded. We do this by asking God to search our hearts for any wicked ways in us, (Psalms 139:23),’
With this prayer in mind, look around, from room to room, and ask God to show you what is clutter or garbage in our house, and causing sin, or temptation to sin in our Christian lives, and hurting our witness to others. You can also ask yourself this question, “If Jesus came to my house to visit today, would I like Him to see the books that I read, the food that I eat, the music that I listen to, the clothes that I wear, the shows that I watch on television, or even the friends that I choose to associate with?” We must be very careful about those we choose for friends,
(1 Corinthians 5:1-13).
We are new creatures, and must change our behaviors, and not allow ourselves to be tempted by the old sinful ways, (1 Corinthians 5:17). We must put on the Lord Jesus Christ, (Romans 13: 13-14), and put off the old man, (Ephesians 4:22-23).
Let’s get busy ladies, and begin a new and refreshing season. Remember, seeds have to die first, to spring up new, into a beautiful new life.
