You’ve probably heard the comment, “That boy or girl is from the wrong side of the tracks.” This month we’re going to talk about three women of the bible who were from the wrong side of the tracks. The first two women’s names are Judith, daughter of Beeri, the Hittite, and Bashemath, daughter of Elon, the Hittite, Genesis 26:34. These two women were Hittites, who worshipped pagan gods.
Esau, son of Isaac and Rebekah, at the age of forty, married Judith and Bashemath,. He married at the same age that his father, Isaac, was when he took Rebekah for his wife. Genesis 26:34
These two women were “a grief to mind to Isaac and Rebekah”, Genesis 26:35, first because they were Hittites and worshipped pagan gods. In 2nd Corinthians 6:14, Paul says, “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers.”
Not only were they unequally yoked together with unbelievers, but Esau committed polygamy. God intended marriage to be between one man and one woman. Esau later married another woman, Basemeth#2, whom he changed her name to Mahalath. See genealogy chart.

Are you on the “wrong side of the tracks; an unbeliever?” If so, take the Romans road to get back to the right side; God’s side.
Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 10:9-10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
